Meet the Team
Jeff Kendall first met Kevin Gundry when he worked for Sears Contractor as an Estimator. Before that, he had graduated from CAL in 1981 with a degree in Economics. Kendall and Gundry broke away from the company and started Custom Exteriors in 1997. They worked out of Kendall’s wife’s flower shop Seifert’s for the first six months before moving to San Ramon, Dublin and – finally – Pleasanton. Both men handled all the estimates and projects for the first couple years, slowly but surely building a sales force that serviced the entire Bay Area.
As the co-owner, Jeff Kendall handles most of the job orders, paperwork (i.e. building permits, city permits, etc.), and job meetings with clients. Originally from Berkeley, CA, he likes to spend his free time playing golf and tennis, and traveling when he can.
Born in Sacramento, CA, Kevin Gundry is a proud 4th Generation Californian. Coming from a rich background – with his mother’s family from Spain and his father’s family from England (and a couple other countries) – Gundry took up Telecommunications in Chico State. After graduating in 1987, he started Custom Exteriors with co-owner Jeff Kendall 10 years later.
Happily married, Kevin is the father of 5 children, which includes 2 sets of twins. He enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys backpacking, camping, fishing, and attending Oakland A’s games. If given the chance, he would also love to travel more.
David Lopez has been in the Construction Industry for 36 years. Before becoming Custom Exteriors’ Sales Manager, he served 4 years in the Air Force as a Crew Chief on the A-10 Warthog. When he was younger, he would also travel to different places to participate in jet ski races, until a series of injuries forced him to stop. In his free time, Lopez enjoys playing sports and immersing himself in the outdoors – particularly through fishing.
Custom Exteriors’ Project Manager Robert Vigil has over 20 years’ worth of experience in Windows & Siding. He also has a background in Construction and Exterior Design that he expertly utilizes during projects. Vigil spends his free time golfing, attending sporting events, and enjoying family time with his wife and children.
We are happy to have Jason joining our team! His bio will appear here soon.
I’m Walker Bardsley and am very proud to represent Custom Exteriors. I’m a numbers guy and look at home improvement from a perspective of “Does the Math Work?”
This comes from growing up in the 70’s and living in a household with a lot of financial stress - a single Mom bringing up three boys. So, it’s in my DNA to watch the numbers and try and save money, and I understand customers who feel the same way. Let’s consider, “Does this project make financial sense?”
I have over 30 years’ experience buying, upgrading and selling properties. Seeing the financial & aesthetic value that a new Entry Door and New Windows bring to a property is exciting to me. My goal at the end of each project is to have the customer say, “Walker I’m glad I finally did this project. It looks great. It was worth it. You were a big help. Thank You.”
As an empty nester with an independent wife - I have time on my hands! I work long hours, listening to your goals and reviewing all the options we can come up with. I’m so proud of our team at Custom Exteriors – from the accounting and logistics managers - to our installers & our involved owners – we put a lot of eyes on each project to ensure the best outcome. I realize, however, we don’t always have the best solution for everyone, and I never pressure a customer to buy from us.
At the end of the day, I will provide as much information as you want (sometimes I provide too much!) so you can make an informed decision – whatever it is.
Yes, I used to be a teacher and am grateful to receive a small pension from it!
I look forward to meeting you and hearing about your project.
